Parquet Hardwood Flooring
Parquet Hard wood flooring is a truly timeless look and can
look beautiful in both traditional and modern homes.
It is often found in churches and old school halls as if laid
correctly it will last for hundreds of years and can be restored to it’s former
glory through restoration.
Sub floor preparation is always key to the laying of any
floor and at Dijon Home & Flooring we always make sure we carry out all
appropriate moisture checks at each stage of the process and that the sub floor
is prepared correctly.
If you are using reclaimed blocks you should scrape all of
the parquet blocks to remove any residue
bitumen or glue it is imperative that all of the blocks are cleaned of residue
to give a good even finish.
They then need to be staked in the property at least 2 weeks
prior to laying in order for them to acclimatise, they should be stacked in
small piles in order for the air to flow around the parquet blocks.
The blocks once laid can be finished in a colour to suit the
individuals needs.
